If you're bilingual, detail-oriented, and passionate about healthcare, we want to hear from you!What You'll DoProvide direct patient care and ensure a safe, clean clinical environment with adequate suppliesConduct pre-visit planning and initiate screening protocols, identifying tests and vaccines due per UDS measures and CDC immunization guidelinesPrepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, recording visit reasons and medical history, performing medication reconciliation, and verifying allergies and recent medical visitsPerform blood draws, heel sticks, and waived tests with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring proper patient identification and order verificationPrepare and label laboratory specimens completely according to policy guidelinesMonitor patient flow through the clinic, communicating delays and expectations to providers and patientsFacilitate continuity of care by scheduling appointments, coordinating with the healthcare team, and maintaining clear communication through phone, written reports, and electronic messagingAssist with medication fills, durable medical equipment (DME) requests, and referral processingProvide professional chaperone support during sensitive procedures including breast exams, pelvic exams, and well-child visitsGather instruments and materials for procedures and provide procedural assistance to medical providersClean, prepare, and sterilize instruments following standard precautions and autoclave protocolsMaintain strict infection control practices including proper hand hygiene, PPE use, biohazard waste disposal, and safe injection techniquesMaintain accurate and complete patient medical recordsAssist with patient translation and help distribute patient communicationsWhat We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required for direct patient care)High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in clinical tasksExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environmentPreferred QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Medical Assistant programCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credentialPrevious experience in a clinical or healthcare settingExperience with electronic health records (EHR) systemsWhy Join Lone Star Family Health Center?Lone Star Family Health Center is committed to providing comprehensive, accessible healthcare to our community.
