The Podiatric Assistant supports podiatry professionals by preparing patients, managing clinical and assisting in both routine care and surgical procedures. This role involves high patient interaction, including education and support, in a fast-paced environment serving over 20 patients daily. The assistant works closely with the podiatrist and utilizes the DrChrono electronic health record system to maintain accurate and efficient documentation without travel between clinic locations.
Responsibilities
* Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
* Sterilize instruments and maintain surgical trays
* Schedule and confirm patient appointments
* Assist in obtaining x-rays and clinical procedures
* Provide patient education and support throughout care
* Assist with surgical preparation and post-op instructions
* Scribe and document patient intake accurately in EHR
* Fit cam boots, surgical shoes, and ankle braces
* Perform bandage changes and wound care assistance
* Answer phones and support front desk communications
Preferred Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Knowledge of patient care and medical terminology
* Familiarity with sterilization procedures and EHR systems (e.g., DrChrono) (Preferred)
* Experience in appointment scheduling and clinical support
* Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
