- Provide strategic, operational, and budgetary support to the US Obesity Medical Affairs organization
- Establish, optimize, and evolve the Medical team while monitoring efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance
- Lead implementation of new ways of working and disseminate change management communications
- Coordinate communication among US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, Operational Excellence, and Medical Platforms
- Provide strategic guidance on high-priority projects and senior management requests
- Represent US Obesity Medical Affairs in cross-functional forums, including with commercial teams
- Lead governance processes, meetings, planning, and execution
- Develop the 3–5 year US Obesity Medical Affairs vision, strategy, and goals
- Define project scope, strategic objectives, execution plans, milestones, and metrics
- Drive change and transformation and facilitate complex strategic conversations
- Lead the annual Operating Plan and oversee budgetary US Obesity operations
- Ensure timely contracting and achievement of financial spend targets
- Forecast and track resources and develop budget/resource planning and allocation models
- Coordinate offshore resources as needed
- Lead communication regarding Global Medical Affairs, platform services, new ways of working, and change management
- Foster digital adaptation and innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree such as a master’s highly preferred
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree; 7+ years with a master’s degree
- 8+ years of experience in Project Management or Business Operations preferred
- More than 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related fields preferred
- Experience working in a high-paced environment
- Strong decision-making, strategic thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate with peers and senior management
- Ability to develop and coach others and guide colleagues’ work
- Entrepreneurial mindset and resourcefulness in a changing environment
- Proven track record implementing strategically important projects on time and within budget
- Ability to operate effectively in a heavily matrixed organization and manage global projects with team members in multiple locations
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Full knowledge and understanding of relevant applicable SOPs
- Project Management methodology knowledge and adherence
- Clinical trial experience preferred
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to independently manage complex projects, budgets, resources, programs, and multiple priorities
- Ability to collaborate across Medical, Medical Information, Corporate Communications, Digital, and Commercial functions
- Candidates must have permanent work authorization in the United States; U.S. work visa sponsorship is unavailable now or in the future
