Responsibility Summary
The role involves providing medical/surgical nursing care on the Med Surg Flex unit with pediatric, cardiac, neurology, stroke, dialysis, pulmonary, hospice, and geriatric patients. Nurses will float between the 32-bed 3B unit, the 30-bed 3C unit, and the 2-bed Med Surg 2 (Adult Surgical Stepdown) unit, caring for surgical and medical patients such as orthopedic, urology, OBGYN, and general surgery.

Qualifications
- Associate of Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Preferably 1 year Med Surg experience.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Candidates without accredited program may be considered if they have more than two years of acute care experience (subject to review by CNO).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA required.
- Additional advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.
About the Unit
The Med Surg Flex unit is a high‑acuity medical/surgical inpatient environment focused on adult surgical step‑down care, with a patient population primarily surgical patients and some medical patients with infections, wounds, and chronic health issues.
