nYour Work Will Help Power Space Exploration
nAs a Mechanical Technician , you'll support the manufacturing and assembly of critical spacecraft components used in satellites and other advanced aerospace systems. Working alongside engineers and manufacturing teams, you'll help fabricate, test, and refine components that play an essential role in missions that impact communications, national security, scientific discovery, and space exploration.
nMission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit produces spacecraft panels, precision optical structures, deployable systems, solar arrays, antenna reflectors, and other components found on virtually every U.S. satellite built over the past two decades.
nWhat You'll Do
nIn this role, you will:

Fabricate and assemble mechanical components and subassemblies for larger aerospace systems
n n - n
Set up and test prototype units and assemblies under operational conditions
n n - n
Analyze test results and recommend modifications to improve performance and meet specifications
n n - n
Support manufacturing operations by assisting engineers with setup, calibration, and production activities
n n - n
Perform rework, quality testing, and inspections on parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies
n n - n
Use advanced programs and systems to collect and evaluate operating data
n n - n
Assist in developing methods and procedures to improve manufacturing processes
n n - n
Handle and manage fragile composite materials with precision and care
n n - n
Track adhesive usage, traceability, pot life, and out-time requirements
n n - n
Perform bonding, preparation, and assembly of composite structures to metallic fittings
n n - n
Utilize calipers, rulers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools
n n - n
Interpret manufacturing drawings, engineering schematics, and shop planning documents
n n - n
Collaborate with employees across departments to support production goals
n n - n
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment
n n
Required Qualifications
nWe're looking for candidates who have:

High School Diploma or GED
n n - n
At least 2 years of additional education and/or related manufacturing experience
n n - n
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly experience
n n - n
Ability to read, understand, and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and written instructions in English
n n - n
Familiarity with hand tools, including:
n n - n
Wrenches
n n - n
Screwdrivers
n n - n
Standard mechanical assembly tools
n n - n
Understanding of torque concepts and proper tool usage
n n - n
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
n n - n
Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
n n - n
Flexibility to work overtime and alternate schedules as production demands require
n n - n
Strong initiative, adaptability, and commitment to quality
