Job Title: Mechanical Technician Job Description

As a Mechanical Technician, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair various systems including brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance services such as changing oil, checking fluids, inspecting batteries, testing lights, and lubricating equipment. Building and maintaining positive working relationships and carrying out instructions effectively is also essential.

Responsibilities

    Inspect, diagnose, and repair brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires.

    Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, fluid checks, battery inspections, light testing, and equipment lubrication.

    ASE certified and DOT inspection certified as required by supervisor.

    EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 609 and 608 as required.

    Valid driver's license required, with CDL Class A preferred.

Work Environment

n

The work environment involves exposure to outside weather conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, and excessive noise levels. Employees must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Regularly lifting 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 100 lbs. is required. The ability to inspect vehicles, as well as bend, stretch, kneel, and squat, is necessary. Shifts are structured as 4 - 10/hour shifts, with operations open 24/7, offering various day and night hours with one weekend day preferred.

Pay and Benefits

n

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr.

n
