This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, system integration, troubleshooting, and test-site support.The engineer will lead and support the mechanical integration of weapon and mission systems into vehicle platforms, working closely with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.This opportunity offers exposure to mechanical structures, electrical/video interfaces, CAN communication systems, failure analysis, field troubleshooting, and advanced technologies such as robotics, electrification, and autonomous systems.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical integration of weapon and mission systems into heavy-duty vehicle platformsSupport component and subsystem design, redesign, and packaging for existing and next-generation vehicle programsCollaborate directly with system suppliers and cross-functional engineering teamsPerform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and failure analysis procedures during development and test-site support phasesInvestigate and resolve mechanical, electrical, and video interface issuesSupport field and proving-ground validation activities, including issue resolution and engineering updatesDevelop and review 3D CAD models, layouts, drawings, specifications, and BOMsUse analytical methods to evaluate system performance, durability, safety, and reliabilitySupport production, prototype builds, and integration eventsMaintain project documentation, technical reports, presentations, and historical engineering recordsProvide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designersSupport integration efforts tied to robotics, electrification, autonomous driving, and advanced vehicle systemsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field2+ years of engineering experience in vehicle systems, component design, or systems integrationStrong mechanical troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skillsExperience working across mechanical and electrical interfacesBackground in heavy vehicle, automotive, defense, aerospace, robotics, or advanced mobility systemsExperience with Creo and WindchillStrong communication skills with the ability to interface with suppliers, test teams, and internal stakeholdersPreferred / Standout QualificationsExperience with weapon system integration, military vehicle systems, or mission equipmentKnowledge of CAN / BUS protocols and vehicle communication architectureExposure to video systems, sensor systems, or embedded electrical interfacesExperience supporting test-site, proving ground, or failure analysis investigationsFamiliarity with electrification, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or mechatronic systemsPrior experience supporting supplier issue resolution and subsystem validationDefense industry or DoD vehicle platform experience strongly preferred
