Role Description The Mechanical Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, MO, responsible for overseeing mechanical construction activities in the field. This position coordinates daily work for mechanical crews, including piping installation, equipment setting, and system integration, ensuring alignment with project plans, specifications, and schedules. The Mechanical Superintendent monitors construction safety practices, conducts regular site inspections, and enforces safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues, track progress, manage resources, and support quality control. The Mechanical Superintendent also reviews construction documents, supports inspections and testing, and provides clear communication and documentation related to project status, risks, and milestones.

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory skills, including leading field crews, coordinating subcontractors, and promoting a culture of accountability and safety.
• Demonstrated expertise in construction safety practices, OSHA standards, and hazard recognition on mechanical and industrial job sites.
• Experience in project management, including scheduling, progress tracking, resource allocation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• Technical proficiency in piping systems, mechanical equipment installation, and reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Hands‑on experience with inspection activities, quality control processes, and documentation of field conditions and test results.
• Relevant experience in mechanical construction or industrial projects; prior work as a foreperson, superintendent, or similar role is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, field‑based environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, apprenticeship completion, or an associate/bachelor’s degree in construction or a related field is beneficial.
