We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple mechanical construction projects throughout the Houston region. This role is responsible for overseeing field execution, workforce planning, safety, quality, and productivity while providing leadership and mentorship to Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel. The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with extensive experience managing large field teams and delivering complex projects safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee field operations across multiple active mechanical construction projects
  • Direct and support project Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel
  • Forecast manpower needs and coordinate labor allocation across projects
  • Manage workforce planning for project peaks, shutdowns, and accelerated schedules
  • Monitor field productivity, project execution, and labor utilization
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety, quality, and production goals are met
  • Work closely with project teams, leadership, and safety personnel to drive successful project outcomes
  • Mentor and develop field leaders while supporting employee growth and advancement
  • Participate in hiring, training, performance management, and workforce development initiatives
  • Support implementation of quality control standards and installation best practices
  • Maintain relationships with staffing partners and assist with labor planning strategies
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts related to field operations and productivity
  • Support projects across healthcare, data center, mission critical, manufacturing, education, hospitality, and light industrial markets
  • Travel throughout the Houston area and surrounding project locations, including Corpus Christi, College Station, and Louisiana, as needed

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical construction field leadership
  • Previous experience as a General Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, Area Superintendent, or similar leadership role
  • Proven ability to manage large field operations and multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience overseeing 120-150+ craft professionals across several jobsites
  • Strong mechanical construction background including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and process systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading Superintendents, Foremen, and field teams
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred or ability to obtain
  • Experience with manpower forecasting, labor planning, and workforce allocation
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships between field operations and executive leadership

  • Data center and mission critical projects
  • Manufacturing and industrial facilities
  • Field technology, BIM/VDC, Procore, and mobile construction software
  • Coordinating labor resources during shutdowns and schedule-driven projects
