Mechanical Project EngineerOur client is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in designing and delivering custom food processing equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with project managers and end-users to bring innovative machinery to life.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign custom food processing equipment using 3D SolidWorks CADCollaborate with Project Managers to ensure designs meet project timelines, budgets, and customer specificationsInterface directly with customer end-users to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure satisfactionDevelop detailed mechanical drawings, BOMs, and documentation for manufacturingSupport the build and assembly process by working closely with shop floor personnelParticipate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability and performanceTroubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during fabrication and installationEnsure compliance with food safety standards and industry regulationsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications, Education, SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in custom machinery or food processing equipmentProficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and drafting)Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and automation principlesExcellent communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teamsDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skillsExperience with project-based engineering and manufacturing environmentsCustomer focused, self-starterAbility to work in a fast paced, fluid environment with varied temperature conditionsEngage and follow up with customersPreferred Qualifications, SkillsExperience in the food processing industryFamiliarity with sanitary design principles and FDA/USDA requirementsKnowledge of fabrication processes including welding, machining, and sheet metalExposure to ERP systems and project tracking tools
