Mechanical Project EngineerWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer with 12+ years of experience in facilities and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven project management skills, ensuring high-quality mechanical and plumbing system designs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations. This role involves overseeing engineering teams, coordinating across multiple disciplines, and serving as a trusted point of contact for clients and stakeholders.Plan, manage, and deliver mechanical engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and reportingLead design and review of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems for facilities and infrastructure projectsConduct field investigations, energy modeling, and code compliance reviewsProvide quality control for design documents, drawings, and specifications used for bidding and constructionSupervise and mentor junior engineers, assigning tasks and reviewing deliverablesCoordinate designs with client specifications and local, state, and federal code requirementsSupport construction by troubleshooting field issues and collaborating with contractors, architects, and ownersDevelop and maintain project management plans, budgets, schedules, and quality plansOversee proposals, pricing, and extra work order requests in support of business development effortsLead multidisciplinary project teams, managing internal staff, subconsultants, and external partnersParticipate in client meetings, presentations, and coordination effortsEnsure proactive problem solving, ownership of results, and continuous performance improvementBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program12+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience with demonstrated project leadershipProfessional Engineer (PE) license, or EIT with ability to obtain PE within 6-12 monthsStrong background in HVAC and plumbing system design and specificationsProficiency in Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and load simulation programs (IESVE and Carrier HAP preferred)Thorough understanding of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codesExcellent organizational, leadership, and communication skillsCommissioning certifications (CxA, BCxP)PMP or CAPM certificationExperience with various project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3)Prior experience managing multidisciplinary teamsExperience working with local, state, or federal clientsIndustrial systems or fire protection design experiencePrimarily office-based with occasional fieldwork and site visitsMay require work in varying outdoor conditions and occasional lifting up to 25 lbsTravel may be required depending on project needs
