Mechanical Project EngineerThe Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for delivering engineering support to production, maintenance, and plant operations. This role focuses on managing capital and improvement projects from concept through execution, ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with plant goals. The position requires strong expertise in mechanical systems, project management, and thermal/combustion engineering, with the ability to lead projects ranging from small upgrades to large-scale capital investments.Key ResponsibilitiesManage full project lifecycle: concept, scope, design, procurement, installation, and commissioningLead projects ranging from $10K to $5MDevelop project schedules and track progress to meet deadlinesMonitor project budgets and ensure cost controlProvide mechanical engineering support to production and maintenance teamsTroubleshoot equipment and process issues, especially related to thermal and combustion systemsSupport design, fabrication, and installation of mechanical equipmentParticipate in the plant's 5-year capital planning processDevelop project scopes, cost estimates, and justification documentationSupport vendor selection and bid evaluationEnsure all projects comply with safety standards and regulationsPrepare contractor safety documentationLead safety meetings and ensure safe project executionCoordinate with internal teams (production, maintenance, engineering)Manage contractors, vendors, and external partnersEnsure successful project startup, acceptance, and closeoutRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldMinimum 2+ years of manufacturing or project engineering experienceMinimum 1+ year of Thermal/Combustion Engineering experienceStrong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipmentAuthorization to work in the U.S.
