Job Title: Superintendent

Salary Rate: $100,000 - $130,000
Position Overview
My client is a subcontractor throughout the southeast specializing in MEP construction in industrial & commercial settings. We are seeking a superintendent for mechanical projects to lead field teams & help ensure high-quality service delivery to clients. This role involves coordinating with various parties in a construction setting, optimizing processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
What You Will Do
- Interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, and job orders, ensuring accurate communication to Foremen and crews.
- Lead teams of pipe fitters & helpers across all assigned phases of projects.
- Attend job meetings and coordinate closely with the department manager on manpower, tools, equipment rentals, and material deliveries.
- Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and compliance with building codes.
- Supervise hydronic piping installation and equipment connections.
- Guide Foremen to maintain safe work practices and productive workflow.
- Coordinate with other trades to prevent conflicts and maintain project efficiency.
- Distinguish between contract work and additional scope items.
- Communicate expectations clearly to Foremen and crews, ensuring instructions are understood.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and instill pride in quality among team members.
- Provide input on hiring and dismissal decisions in collaboration with Foremen and department managers.
- Assemble procurement orders for materials, tools, and equipment at project start.
- Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules.
- Evaluate worker abilities to optimize daily job assignments.
- Review schedules and estimate man hours required for project completion.
- Ensure accurate timekeeping and documentation.
- Follow all health and safety standards.
- Prepare written reports summarizing issues and corrective actions taken.
Skills Required
- Minimum 4 years in a Foreman level trade role or higher.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of hydronic systems, cooling, and heating.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in shop math.
- Skilled in working with tools, metals, and machinery.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and provide direction to helpers.
- OSHA 30 certification.
