Mechanical Maintenance SupervisorHGA is hiring for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor in Pollock, LA. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of millwrights, leads, mechanics, planners, and technicians to ensure production equipment operates at peak performance while minimizing downtime. This role is responsible for driving reliability maintenance practices, supporting production continuity, and proactively addressing mechanical issues.
The Supervisor partners closely with production leadership to plan and execute maintenance strategies, eliminate operational roadblocks, and improve overall equipment reliability. This position also oversees hiring, training, and development to strengthen team capability and departmental performance.Key Responsibilities:Ensuring all work is performed safely by addressing hazards before tasks beginLeading maintenance planning, scheduling, and project executionAuditing and inspecting maintenance work for quality and accuracyDiagnosing and resolving complex mechanical issuesMaintaining accurate maintenance recordsOptimizing equipment performance and reliabilityDriving safety initiatives, including LOTO and Hot Work complianceManaging resources and adjusting priorities based on business needsPartnering with operations to support continuous improvement and production goalsWork is performed in an industrial mill environment, including exposure to extreme temperatures, confined spaces, heights, and physically demanding conditions.Required Qualifications:Accredited degree OR equivalent hands-on experience7+ years of experience as a millwrightStrong mechanical and technical expertise, including welding knowledgeProven leadership and supervisory experienceStrong problem-solving and diagnostic skillsAbility to plan, organize, and execute maintenance work effectivelyStrong communication skills and ability to lead and train teamsWorking knowledge of reliability maintenance practicesWillingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations as neededPreferred Qualifications:Experience in a wood products manufacturing environmentAdvanced knowledge of equipment maintenance systems and processesExperience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory managementDemonstrated success implementing continuous improvement initiativesEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
