Mechanical Exchange Technician ICorporate Headquarters - Charlotte, NC 28278OverviewPosition Type Full Time Travel Percentage NoneDescriptionPrimary Purpose and Function:The primary purpose of this position is to evaluate and repair defective units in a timely manner and maintain adequate inventory while meeting the needs of our customers.Responsibilities:Inspect and identify incoming unitsDisassemble and failure analysis/diagnosisClean, inspect and prep units for repairAssist technicians as requiredInstall and Remove units from the simulatorShop floor/Inventory controlMaintain organized, clean and safe work area (5S)Work collaboratively with other departmentsAssist technicians as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma, vocational certificate or equivalent experience (1-3 yrs. mechanical experience)Strong mechanical ability, average mathematical ability and basic electrical skillsAbility to interpret mechanical assembly and parts drawingsProficient use of electrical and mechanical devices such as, precision measuring equipment, multimeters, etc.Strong attention to detail and capable of solving product technical problemsMust work well independently as well as on a teamBasic computer skills including Microsoft OfficePreferred:Ability to operate forklift and craneBasic operation of manual machine shop equipment (lathe, grinder etc.)Machine maintenance or previous mechanical assembly/rebuilding experienceExperience with Bill of Material (BOM) research
