Responsibilities
- Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert, answering questions and resolving issues brought by the engineering staff.
- Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for staff to use.
- Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
- Check and confirm the accuracy of work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
- Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Prepare and deliver various engineering‑related presentations, both internally and externally.
- Perform department management activities, including recruitment, hiring, coaching, and leadership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design.
- Team supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- PE license required.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Strong knowledge of building codes.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Self‑motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline‑driven environment, working individually or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of sustainable certification programs.
- Strong software skills, including Revit.
