Mechanical Engineer-In-TrainingKimley-Horn's is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Orlando, Florida (FL) office's MEP team!ResponsibilitiesSupport the design of HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, hospitality, municipal, and federal projectsPerform HVAC load calculations, ventilation analysis, and assist with system sizing and selectionDevelop Revit/BIM models and construction documents, including ductwork and piping layoutsAssist in preparation of technical specifications and energy compliance documentation (e.g., COMcheck)Coordinate with internal disciplines and support collaboration with architects, contractors, and project teamsConduct field investigations and site visits to document existing conditions and support design developmentAssist with construction administration tasks such as submittal reviews and responding to RFIsContribute to project delivery by completing assigned tasks with increasing independence and accountabilityQualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (ABET accredited)2+ years of relevant mechanical/HVAC experienceEIT/EI certification or ability to obtainWorking knowledge of: HVAC systems (load calculations, ductwork, basic system design)Plumbing systems (basic layouts and coordination)Experience with Revit or BIM-based design toolsStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and contribute to a team environmentPreferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in design and project coordinationExperience supporting multiple project types, including commercial, hospitality, municipal, and/or federal sectorsDemonstrated growth toward independent task execution and technical problem-solvingWhy Kimley-Horn?At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
