Mechanical Engineer II

This role is heavily focused on mechanical product development, CAD design, engineering analysis, manufacturing support, and automation integration. The engineer will partner closely with senior engineers, controls engineers, and electrical engineers to develop new products, improve existing designs, and support future automation initiatives. Responsible for supporting the research, design, build, and test of automated solutions for the burn-in industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expands and maintains technical knowledge relating to the design and controls of Burn-In chambers and auxiliary automation systems.
  • Develops and implements early phase mechanical concept design, performs tolerance analysis, finite element analysis or other design analysis. Design mechanical components, assemblies, and industrial equipment.
  • Develop new product concepts and improve existing product designs.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
  • Performs initial and ongoing design reviews.
  • Helps ensure designs meet and exceed product specifications, regulatory requirements, and international standards.
  • Produces accurate and complete documentation, BOM's, and procedures to support operations.
  • Partners with Senior Engineers to complete advanced automation projects.
  • Assists senior engineers and proposes new initiatives relevant to their work for research and development activities to ensure the continuous and on-going improvement of processes and methods.
  • Responsible for responding to customer requests for products and designs relevant to their assigned responsibilities.
  • Presents plans of action to address and resolve mechanical design and quality problems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software and drafting procedures.
  • Mechanical component and assembly design.
  • Product development and new product introduction.
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Engineering drawing creation and revision control.
  • Tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Design validation and testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years Mechanical Design experience.
  • Experience using SolidWorks.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Manufacturing Systems.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing skills.
  • FEA, Structural Analysis, Thermal Analysis Experience
  • Experience designing and developing electromechanical assemblies.
