Senior Mechanical Engineer

to provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in developing advanced Mechanical Circulatory Support systems, particularly Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD). This position is ideal for engineers passionate about solving complex challenges in life-sustaining technologies and driving innovation in mechanical and electromechanical systems.

The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally to design, analyze, prototype, and test implantable medical devices, contributing throughout the full product lifecycle — from concept development through commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design and development activities for implantable medical devices
  • Develop and execute test methods for product validation
  • Perform CAD modeling, detailed drawings, and GD&T documentation
  • Support prototype builds, verification testing, and product optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality, and manufacturing
  • Ensure compliance with medical device development standards

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with test method development and execution , specifically using Instron or similar compression/tension testing equipment
  • CAD design skills with solid understanding of GD&T
  • Proven product development experience within the medical device industry
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems
