Mechanical EngineerWe are seeking a Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE required) to lead mechanical and plumbing design efforts within a growing in-house engineering team. This role supports healthcare, institutional, and commercial projects and is responsible for producing stamped construction documents and coordinating multidisciplinary building systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with electrical, architectural, and external engineering teams to deliver fully coordinated HVAC and plumbing system designs across all project phases.
Healthcare project experience is highly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and stamp mechanical and plumbing construction documents across all project phasesPerform HVAC system design including load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selectionDesign plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas systemsCoordinate mechanical systems within BIM (Revit) environmentCollaborate with electrical engineers on power, controls, and BAS integrationPrepare mechanical specifications and review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawingsConduct site visits and support construction administrationEnsure compliance with mechanical, plumbing, energy, and building codesSupport proposals and client meetings when neededHelp establish internal mechanical standards and design workflowsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)Active PE license (Mechanical PE required)7+ years of HVAC and plumbing design experience in AEC environmentStrong experience with Revit and AutoCADKnowledge of mechanical/plumbing codes and energy standardsStrong communication and coordination skillsPreferred QualificationsHealthcare or institutional project experienceExperience with medical gas systems and infection control ventilationFamiliarity with BIM coordination in multidisciplinary teamsExperience working as sole in-house mechanical engineerWork Environment Collaborative AEC environment working with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors. Includes both office-based design work and occasional site visits.
