Repair Development - Mechanical EngineerCincinnati, OHRoles & Responsibilities:Support the In-Service Operations of fleets of various Large, Medium, and Small Aero enginesDevelopment of repair solutions for structural and rotating parts of enginesSupport engine overhaul by providing repair solutions to salvage engine componentsIn-Service Issue Analysis (Maintenance), Non-conformance Investigation & dispositionsTechnical Report writing and develop substantiation for the Airworthiness requirementsRepair procedure Development & writing repair instructions/ preparation and modification of Repair & Inspection manuals to support in service fleet maintenance on Aero-Engine componentsIncorporation of Service Bulletin, Modification Bulletin, Design Alternation Request and Repair notes into the repair manualsProvide inputs supporting evaluation and improvement of processes, tools, and methodologies & ensure best practices are used throughout the company.Required Skills:BS or associate degree from an accredited university/college with a minimum of 1+ years of repair engineering experienceMinimum one year of experience in repair engineering and/or technical writing on Gas turbines/Aero Engines componentsGood hands-on experience in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and similar tools)Must have strong verbal and written communications skills, organization & trouble shooting skillsProven ability to work well within a team & collaborative environment with different engineering functions and manufacturing shopsDesired Skills:Understanding of repair source approvals and vendor trial managementCollaboration with other support functions- design, analysis, fleet, materials, sourcing, and shops to demonstrate repair processes are viableEnsure configuration management changes and spares requirements are accounted proactively with sourcing/suppliersSound knowledge of gas turbine engines, engine components and their functions during engine operationKnowledge of various failure/ deterioration mechanisms leading to component/ system failures or distressKnowledge of various inspection methods including NDT techniques, various manufacturing techniques and their application during component repairFamiliar with Gas Turbine Materials, Tooling, Protective Treatments, Coatings and Heat TreatmentsKnowledge of Gas Turbine fundamentals, component manufacturing, cleaning, and inspection processesExperience in NX, Teamcenter, part drawing reading, preparing repair sketches, and GD&TPhysical Requirements & Work Environment:Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PMAbility to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or US PersonThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
