Mechanical Engineer
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Hellbender, you will have a key role in developing new products, including cameras and robotic sensors, from the ground up. You will have the opportunity and responsibility to generate innovative solutions to address unique issues on a wide variety of projects. You will aid in projects at various stages of the product design cycle: requirements composition; component selection trade studies and testing; prototype design, assembly, debugging, and documentation; design requirements verification and validation; retooling product designs for production volumes; and cobotic assembly workflow and tooling design.
Essential duties and responsibilities include developing, preparing, and maintaining 3D part and assembly models, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs); designing, conducting, analyzing, documenting, and presenting the results of experiments which determine and/or validate the performance of individual components, subassemblies, and full systems; applying practical mechanical engineering principles and techniques to create products that meet our customers' requirements on their timeline; and utilizing and expanding our suite of design approaches and custom tooling to create products capable of robotic and cobotic assembly.
Qualifications, skills, and attributes include a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, 3+ years of experience consisting of full-time employment, internships, and co-op programs, proficiency in 3D modeling (Solidworks experience a plus), strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, ability to design, implement, and communicate the results of experiments, ability to read, understand, and create technical drawings and material, organized & able to work towards deadlines, curious; driven; interested in the way things work; excited to approach new problems, and excellent team player with strong communication skills (written and verbal) is essential.
Compensation for this salaried, exempt position will be discussed relative to experience and abilities. This position will be open to the company yearly bonus and retirement savings programs.
