Mechanical EngineerOur client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Perry, OH. This role supports the planning, design, procurement, and installation quality of mechanical systems and equipment within heavy industrial and power-related environments.ResponsibilitiesSupport planning, design, procurement, and installation quality of mechanical systems and equipmentComplete project-specific objectives on time under the direction of a Senior Mechanical EngineerReceive and interpret instructions related to assignment objectives, complex features, and potential solutionsRead and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reportsAssist mechanical designers and drafters in developing structural designs of equipment and piping systems using CAD and 3D design softwareResearch, design, evaluate, and support installation of equipment, systems, and processes in alignment with engineering principlesConduct feasibility studies and performance analyses of equipment, components, and systemsDevelop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to evaluate feasibility, operating conditions, and improvement opportunitiesSpecify system components or recommend modifications to ensure compliance with engineering design and performance requirementsApply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria while making minor adaptations and modifications as neededPresent technical information to peers and stakeholders to support operating procedures and resolve system issuesProvide technical expertise within discipline and assist in training internal personnel and, when required, customer personnelQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplineExperience in power plant, process, and/or heavy industrial design environmentsUnderstanding of pipe stress analysis concepts and applicationStrong knowledge of engineering science and technology principles and their practical applicationDemonstrated ability in complex problem solving and critical thinkingStrong communication skills, including active listening, verbal, and written communicationHigh attention to detail with strong judgment and decision-making abilityStrong desire to learn and grow within a technical engineering environmentPreferred QualificationsFE and/or PE certification, or willingness to obtain bothExperience in energy, chemical, and/or power generation design engineering environmentsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
