Mechanical Engineer PositionDelta Systems & Automation LLC is seeking Mechanical Engineers to join our team. In this role, you will design the mechanical portion of machines based on requirements and equipment specifications that meet both business and customers' needs.Responsibilities:Design mechanical portion of machines, including frames, drive train, and integration of commercial components with general ergonomics and safety design concepts in mind.Utilize machine design momentum, inertia calculations, drive ratio, and servo sizing in all component designCreate bills of materialsDefine and institute processes and standards for the Engineering departmentAssist the sales department with packaging system conceptsAssist production assembly departmentsContribute to the development and review of supplemental instruction documentsAssist the service department with technical questionsCommunicate with coworkers who have experience with specific customer requirementsMaintain cleanliness of work and common areasMaintain quality and safety standards are upheldSkills:Ability to multi-task and apply critical thinking skillsAbility to communicate and work cooperatively with coworkers as part of a teamAble to effectively train and lead work teams within the workgroupAble to give effective presentations to general audiencesDetail-oriented and close attention to accuracyQualifications:Minimum 4 years of post-secondary education in a Mechanical or related fieldBachelor's degree (BSME) from an accredited college or university is required.Previous experience in food processing and packaging is preferredBackground in industrial automation is a plusKnowledge of electrical design about the use of sensors, motors, and roboticsMust be proficient with SolidWorks, general loading and machine design calculations, Finite Element Analysis, and MS OfficePhysical Demands:This position will frequently be working on equipment with potential hazards.
