Mechanical EngineerAspen Technical Staffing is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity with the potential for permanent hire. This position offers the opportunity to support challenging industrial projects involving the planning, design, procurement, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in power generation, process, or heavy industrial environments and enjoy working on multidisciplinary engineering projects.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the planning, design, procurement, and quality installation of mechanical systems and equipment.Complete project-specific engineering assignments under the direction of a Senior Mechanical Engineer while meeting project schedules and objectives.Read, interpret, and review technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and engineering reports.Assist mechanical designers and drafters with the development of equipment and piping system designs using CAD and 3D modeling software.Research, evaluate, design, and oversee the installation of mechanical equipment, systems, and processes.Conduct engineering studies and analyses to evaluate equipment performance, feasibility, and operational improvements.Develop and test alternative design concepts and processing methods to improve performance and reliability.Specify system components and recommend product modifications to ensure compliance with engineering and performance requirements.Apply standard engineering principles, procedures, and practices while exercising sound engineering judgment.Troubleshoot system issues and present technical recommendations to engineering teams and project stakeholders.Prepare technical documentation and assist in developing operating procedures.Provide technical guidance and training to internal team members and customers as needed.Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Experience with the planning, design, procurement, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment.Experience in power generation, process, or heavy industrial facility design.Experience performing or supporting pipe stress analysis.Knowledge of engineering principles, mechanical system design, and applicable industry standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.High attention to detail and organizational skills.Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.Preferred QualificationsEngineer-in-Training (FE) certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license, or willingness to obtain both.Experience supporting energy, chemical, or power plant engineering and design projects.Experience with mechanical design software and 3D modeling tools.Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering project environments.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
