Role Overview
Provide mechanical engineering subject-matter expertise to create high-quality assessment content that helps train next-generation AI systems. You will convert advanced engineering concepts into clear, single-choice questions and documented rationales that emphasize technical rigor and real-world applicability.
Key Responsibilities- Create clear and accurate single-choice assessment questions grounded in mechanical engineering concepts.
- Develop content in one or more focus areas: Solid and Structural Mechanics, Dynamics, Vibration and Control, or Thermal-Fluids.
- Write detailed rationales and explanations for answer choices to support AI training datasets.
- Ensure technical correctness, relevance, and practical applicability of every item produced.
- Perform quality checks and revise submitted materials based on feedback from project coordinators.
- Collaborate remotely with coordinators and meet established content delivery milestones.
- Maintain precise records of assignments and submissions using provided digital workflow tools.
- Required knowledge and skills: mechanical engineering, solid mechanics, structural mechanics, dynamics, vibration and control, thermal-fluids.
- Strong technical writing skills, experience converting complex engineering principles into clear written material.
- Experience in educational content creation, assessment design, or technical writing is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and commitment to technical accuracy.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote contractor role.
- Familiarity with collaborative online platforms and digital workflow tools is a plus.
- Preferred: MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in one or more of the listed focus areas.
- No prior experience in AI is required; domain expertise is the primary requirement.
- Engagement type: contractor, fully remote.
- Work is output-based, with payment tied to tasks that meet project specifications.
- Time to complete tasks will vary by expert and workflow.
- Minimum submission requirements apply, Experts must submit a minimum of tasks per week.
- Selected candidates are expected to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing onboarding.
- Roles are typically filled within 48 hours, so immediate availability is preferred.
- Pay range: $50 - $70 per hour, expressed as the equivalent rate; actual payment is made per completed task that meets specifications.
- Payment is task-based, not strictly hourly; time required per task will vary.
- Open to candidates able to engage as independent contractors and work remotely.
- Must be available to start quickly and complete onboarding before beginning assigned tasks.
Submit your application for consideration. If selected, you will complete onboarding and then begin contributing tasks. Expect to start your first assignments within 24 to 48 hours after onboarding is complete. Roles are often filled within 48 hours, so prompt responses are recommended.
