Facilities Mechanical Engineer (System Owner) – Marcy, NY (on-site)

Our client, an advanced semiconductor manufacturer, is hiring a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to serve as system owner for the critical mechanical utilities at a high-volume wafer fabrication facility. You will own the performance, reliability and lifecycle of these systems and support the start-up of new ones.

Responsibilities

• Own chillers and chilled water, process cooling water, clean dry air, make-up air, boilers/steam, process exhaust (acid, caustic, solvent, hazardous), thermal oxidizers and CRAC units
• Run, troubleshoot and optimize systems to meet uptime, safety and quality targets
• Build and manage reliability and preventive maintenance programs
• Lead root cause analysis on failures and drive corrective actions
• Identify and deliver energy and cost improvements
• Support design, commissioning and start-up of new systems
• Read and interpret P&IDs and HVAC drawings
• Lead mechanical utility projects and influence maintenance and operations teams without direct reports

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years in facilities, utilities, HVAC or industrial mechanical systems
• Semiconductor, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing or mission-critical environment experience
• Strong fluid mechanics and thermodynamics skills (pump/fan sizing, pressure drop, duct sizing)
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Project
• On-site in Marcy, NY, five days per week

Preferred

• Wafer fab experience
• Cleanroom HVAC experience
• BMS / SCADA / PLC exposure
• PE or EIT

Pay range $93,000 - $128,000 depending on experience. Relocation to the Syracuse / Utica area is required if you are not local.
