As part of the Buildings team for Garver, this Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings projects. Specifically, this responsibility will include a variety of projects related to planning, design, and commissioning of:Building HVAC system(s)Building plumbing system(s)Building fire protection system(s)Building whole building energy modelingBuilding sustainability requirements reportingIn addition, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines, and coordination with regional offices. Assisting project managers in management of projects. Following quality assurance and quality control plans. Periodic travel to project sites will be required.Abilities and attributes needed for this position:Knowledge of mechanical engineering and sustainability principlesUtilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawingsUtilize Microsoft Excel based calculation tools for design calculationsManage multiple assignments concurrentlyBe responsible for time management and product qualityKeep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projectsFollow Quality Assurance and Quality Control PlansBe responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the teamRequirementsBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college.Minimum of 3 years of building design and construction industry experienceMust have a knowledge base of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designsMust have strong communication skillsExperience with Autodesk RevitMust be proficient with MS Office SuitePassed the Fundamentals of Engineering examPreferred SkillsExperience with Autodesk AutoCADExperience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis programExperience with AIA MasterSpecGrow With UsGarver offers its employees programs such as company-paid professional memberships, company support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
