Mechanical Engineer PositionBi?Con Engineering is seeking Mechanical Engineers, to support the design and execution of projects for natural gas, hydrocarbon, and industrial facilities.This role is responsible for producing mechanical, piping system, and equipment drawings and deliverables across a variety of projects. Depending on experience level, the Mechanical Engineer will either assist senior engineers or independently lead and manage project scope, budget, schedule, and technical execution. The position offers strong growth opportunities, mentorship, and increasing responsibility over time.

This position is located in Derwent, Ohio at our office.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and exchange technical information with other project engineering disciplinesParticipate in or lead design review meetings and conference calls with customers, subcontractors, and vendorsAssist with or prepare weekly progress reports identifying completed work and upcoming planned work in accordance with the project scheduleCoordinate with mechanical designers and drafters to develop: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)Piping Orthographic and Isometric DrawingsBills of MaterialFacility Plot Plans / Site LayoutsPerform quality mechanical drawing checks to ensure designs are safe, compliant, clear, accurate, constructible, and cost?effective in accordance with BCE's Drawing Check ProcessPerform cross?discipline drawing reviews to confirm design consistency between Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical interfacesPerform mechanical calculations to validate and document mechanical/piping design and material or equipment specificationsUtilize customer standards, specifications, and calculations to develop engineered and commodity bills of materialIdentify long?lead equipment and support or lead the procurement process, including: Equipment specificationsQuote requisitionsTechnical and commercial bid evaluationsPurchase order preparationReview equipment vendor drawings to ensure proper design integration and consistency with purchase documentationFor more experienced engineers: Manage overall project scope, budget, and scheduleLead internal project team meetingsIndependently manage small? to mid?scale projectsQualificationsWorking knowledge or developing understanding of: ANSI pipe schedulesFlange pressure and temperature ratingsPipe, fitting, and flange materialsAPI, ASTM, ASME, and MSS material specifications5+ years of experience with natural gas or related fieldsE.I. certification preferred but not requiredFamiliarity with industry codes and standards such as DOT Part 192, ASME B31.3, and ASME B31.8 (level dependent)Knowledge of common mechanical equipment used in industrial and natural gas facilitiesUnderstanding of general construction practices and sequencingStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
