Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design expertise needed to shape our technology's performance.In this role, you will directly contribute to the growth of the Aether team.What you’ll doLead conceptualization, modeling, analysis, documentation, and test/validation of semiconductor chamber hardwareWork with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured in accordance with performance and cost objectivesEnsure documentation is consistent with SEMI, Lam Standards and other standards as applicable (ANSI, DIN etc.)Design parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coating/platingDevelop and execute test plans that generate characterization data sufficient to understand and validate the performance of the designDevelop and present reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis, and validationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware designs meet overall product objectivesProvide work leadership, training, and mentoring to junior and new engineersConduct thermal, flow, and stress simulations to optimize designs prior to fabricating partsWho we’re looking forMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 6 years’ experience; or equivalent experienceStrong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and fundamentals including design principles, machine elements, materials, fabrication methods, and integration and testingExtremely knowledgeable and experienced in the use of 3D CAD tools such as ProE, NX, etc.Able to deliver in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced working environment to challenging development schedulesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and strong customer-interaction skillsStrong skills and experience in problem solving, time and priority management and project managementStrong attention to detail in design, documentation, and project executionInterest in potential Engineering Management responsibilitiesPreferred qualificationsSemiconductor industry experience is not required, but a plusFluency with modeling and assemblies in Siemens NX CAD systemProficient with thermal and structural analysisPrior experience developing semiconductor capital equipment, in particular ALD/CVD chamber hardware and plasma generationExperience with CFD flow simulation for gas flow in vacuum systemsHands on, passionate about hardware developmentSupervisory or Management experienceOur commitmentWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.SalarySalary Range for this position: $119,000.00 - $259,000.00.The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside in California and most states. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
