Position Overview
GTI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of mechanical systems for modular infrastructure projects. This role works closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to create manufacturable designs, detailed drawings, equipment layouts, and production documentation. May require up to 10% travel.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design
* Design structural frames, enclosures, weldments, sheet metal assemblies, and equipment layouts
* Develop mechanical designs that support fit, function, serviceability, installation, and transportation
* Support integration of cooling equipment, piping, mechanical components, and electrical systems
Engineering Documentation & Analysis
* Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation
* Perform component sizing, tolerance analysis, and basic engineering calculations
* Support design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting
Manufacturing Support
* Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to improve quality and production efficiency
* Work with manufacturing teams to resolve fit-up, tolerance, and assembly issues
* Support engineering changes and continuous product improvement
Requirements
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
* 2+ years of mechanical design experience
* Experience designing fabricated structures, mechanical assemblies, or industrial equipment
* Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
* Experience creating manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with modular infrastructure, industrial skids, power systems, HVAC, or equipment enclosures
* Experience with weldments, sheet metal, piping, thermal systems, FEA, or CFD
* Background in fabrication, custom manufacturing, or New Product Introduction
