Sheetmetal Enclosures Designer
Work within a fast-paced team tasked with the design of sheetmetal enclosures, weldments, and other applicable customer designs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Layout and design to support quotations, orders, and manufacturing projects
- Ensure that standard shop practices and capabilities meet the design requirements and are reflected in designs and drawings
- Secondary tasks include troubleshooting calls, calling vendors, update ECR's, contacting customers
- Play a key role in manufacturing and productivity improvements
- Solve manufacturing and assembly issues on the shop floor, both for short term and long term solutions
- Assist to launch new product development
- Conduct reviews of jobs released to the floor
- Work towards continuous improvements for cost reductions and quality improvements
- Work with quality, purchasing, assembly, and design staff to ensure efficiency
Desired Skills
- High level of SOLIDWORKS Proficiency
- Knowledge in an ERP system along with PDM experience preferred
- Experience in sheet-metal and weldment design is desired
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and able to work with changing priorities
- Hands on individual who can work from concept through implementation
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design or related field desired
