Mechanical CAD Expert

Role Overview

Apply mechanical CAD expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through detailed analysis of advanced engineering assemblies. This remote contract role focuses on producing technically accurate, real-world question-and-answer materials from native FreeCAD assembly files.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-part mechanical assemblies in native FreeCAD files, including component relationships and assembly design intent.
• Create precise, objective, non-guessable technical questions and answers for assigned assemblies.
• Develop several detailed questions per assembly addressing mechanical function, design rationale, and dimensional considerations.
• Format questions and answers clearly and unambiguously in line with real-world engineering standards.
• Deliver high-quality work within agreed project parameters and communicate promptly with project coordinators.
• Use written and verbal communication to resolve ambiguities and collaborate with a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical engineering, aerospace, or industrial design, with strong practical and foundational CAD knowledge.
• Ability to interpret and analyze complex mechanical assemblies and engineering drawings.
• FreeCAD familiarity is beneficial. Experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, or other CAD platforms is also valuable.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, precise, objective technical documentation or assessment materials.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, technical accuracy, and objectivity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical insights for varied audiences.
• Ability to work independently, manage deliverables, and adapt to changing project requirements in a remote setting.

Compensation

$40 to $80 per hour.
