The Mechanical Assembly Supervisor has significantly more experience, skill, and knowledge than the Mechanical Assembly Technician and is responsible for assigning assembly tasks within the mechanical assembly area.

This position is responsible for leading daily assembly operations and works cross-functionally to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives are achieved. This role supervises assembly personnel, coordinates production activities, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company standards and manufacturing procedures.Responsibilities:Ensure parts and assemblies meet or exceed company and customer workmanship and quality standardsCoordinate labor allocation based on production priorities, capacity, and operation cycle timesMonitor workflow, bottlenecks, and line balancePartner cross-functionally to drive schedule attainment and on-time delivery (OTD) KPIsCoordinate manufacturing schedule with other supervisory personnelScalte material shortages, equipment downtime, and production risksConduct daily production meetings and shift handoffsMaintain accurate production records and reporting metricsAble to make fact-based decisions and use good judgement to foster short- and long-term business successEnsure compliance to and enforce all company and customer Quality and Safety policies and proceduresInvestigate safety incidents and implement corrective actionsMaintain a safe, clean, and professional departmentMediate and resolve personnel and or shift issuesLead, coach, and develop department staffConduct periodic and end of year performance reviews and attendance managementSupport hiring, onboarding, and training activitiesMaintain skills matrix and cross-training plansFoster accountability, teamwork, and a continuous improvement cultureImprove labor efficiency, throughput, and workflowReduce waste, downtime, and non-value-added activitiesImplement process improvements and standardized workSupport production readiness for new product introductions (NPI)Must effectively coordinate projects simultaneously, sometimes with high inventory, WIP, and revenue valuesInteracts with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors, Customer Account Managers, and departmental personnel, as necessary. Also regularly interacts directly with customers.May require overtime or flexible scheduling based on production demandRequirements:High school diploma or GED (required)Associate degree or technical certification (preferred)5+ years of mechanical / electro-mechanical assembly experience (preferred)5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience of teams with 10 or more employees (required)3+ years of experience interacting with customers (preferred)Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and work instructions (required)Must be able to perform basic arithmetic (required)Experience in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environments (preferred)Experience with Lean manufacturing principles (preferred)Mechanical assembly processes and tooling knowledge (required)Root cause problem solving (preferred)ERP/MRP systems familiarity (required)Experience supporting NPI builds and engineering change implementation (required)Ability to compose and maintain spread sheets for metric/KPI reporting (required)Ability to multitask successfully while under pressure (required)Familiarity with spreadsheet, document, and presentation generation software (required)Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
