About the Role:
As a Mechanical Assembler, you will execute a variety of assembly tasks spanning general, electronic, and mechanical functions. Your attention to detail and mechanical aptitude will enable you to interpret drawings, schematics, and instructions to accurately assemble, modify, and rework components. You will also play a key role in maintaining a safe workplace by adhering to safety protocols, including ESD prevention and handling explosive materials responsibly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble components and subassemblies based on detailed instructions, schematics, and visual aids
- Perform electronic assembly tasks such as PCB loading, soldering to IPC standards, and repairing anomalies under microscopes
- Handle inert and energetic materials with precision, utilizing analytical balances and powder-press equipment safely
- Set up and assemble subcomponents, perform cabling and soldering, ensuring quality and safety standards are met
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality
- Maintain certifications through ongoing training and strictly follow all safety protocols, including ESD and explosive area procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of experience in electronic, mechanical, or general assembly preferred
- Strong mechanical skills, dexterity, and fine motor coordination
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, drawings, and schematics effectively
- Proficiency in IPC J-STD and IPC-A-610 standards for electronic assembly
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work safely in environments involving explosive materials
- Comfortable in fast-paced settings with strict safety guidelines
