Heavy Equipment Diesel MechanicJ. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic.Essential Job Functions:Ability to diagnose and perform necessary repairsAbility to diagnose computer related failures through diagnosticRemove faulty components and repair and or replace.
Ability to make any necessary adjustmentsAbility to complete repair orders, record time and provide accurate repair notes electronically through the CMMSAssists other technicians with repairs as directed by Shop ForemanSafely uses all power and hand-held mechanic's toolsSelects appropriate action for all equipment repairs during the diagnostic processEvaluates completed work and conducts final inspection of equipment prior to placing back in serviceCleans exterior of all vehicles prior to release back into service, if related to repairAdds lubricants and other fluids to all vehicles and equipment as neededMaintains shop and work areas according to TPR 5S standardsUtilizes appropriate PPE and follows all safety guidelines and proceduresNotifies Shop Foreman of issues / request assistance from Shop Foreman as neededNotifies Shop Foreman of discrepancies in work order requirements to actual repair needs.Other duties as assigned by the Shop ForemanSpecial Skills / Abilities Needed :High school diploma, GED, or vocational school requiredAbility to use Microsoft and Apple computer systems and applicationsCDL strongly desiredMust have five years direct experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanicExperience as a road mechanic is highly desiredMust have the ability to interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams and other documents. Ability to safely operate all company equipment, both on-road and off-road.Ability to follow instructions from supervisorsFamiliarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
