The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise software products deployed across large-scale compute clusters supporting Continuity of Operations (COOP) environments.
Working within an Agile development team, the Software Engineer will independently perform all phases of the software development lifecycle while designing scalable solutions that integrate Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) technologies. The ideal candidate possesses strong Java development experience, expertise with distributed systems, Linux, containerization, and DevSecOps practices, along with the ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to software architecture and technical planning.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software supporting large-scale distributed computing environmentsPerform requirements analysis, software design, development, installation, integration, testing, operations monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting throughout the software development lifecycleDevelop high-performance Java applications supporting distributed systems, networking, and multi-threaded processingDesign and implement scalable software solutions that integrate or extend Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) productsDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation using tools such as Ansible and PuppetSupport Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, deployment, and operational monitoring activitiesDevelop and maintain containerized applications utilizing Docker and Kubernetes within microservices-based architecturesMonitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement performance improvementsParticipate in software architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainabilityEvaluate project requirements, estimate development effort, define technical tasks, and contribute to project planning activitiesProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior software engineers and programmer/analystsDevelop and maintain technical documentation, software design artifacts, implementation plans, and operational proceduresParticipate in a rotating Tier III on-call support schedule and provide emergency surge support as required by operational tempoCollaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, data engineers, and mission stakeholders within an Agile development environmentRequired QualificationsMust have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope PolygraphMinimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexityBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
