This position is responsible for administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining secure cloud-based platforms that support enterprise data processing and analytics. The successful candidate will work within a high-tempo operational environment to ensure system availability, performance, reliability, and security while collaborating with engineering, network, and infrastructure teams to sustain and improve enterprise cloud services.Primary ResponsibilitiesMonitor the health, availability, and performance of cloud-based systems and large-scale distributed computing environmentsTroubleshoot and resolve operating system, network, application, storage, and data flow issues to maintain continuous operationsInstall, configure, administer, and maintain Linux-based cloud infrastructure, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or similar operating systemsSupport the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Hadoop, Accumulo, and other distributed data platformsDevelop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts using Bash and/or Python to improve operational efficiencyPerform system patching, software upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management activitiesAdminister user accounts, permissions, authentication, and access controls in accordance with security policiesMonitor storage systems and ensure data integrity, availability, and backup/recovery processesSupport configuration management using Puppet or comparable enterprise automation toolsCoordinate with hardware, network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issuesParticipate in system engineering discussions, operational planning, and continuous process improvement initiativesMaintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system configuration recordsParticipate in an after-hours on-call rotation to support operational requirements and mission continuityEnsure compliance with applicable security policies, configuration standards, and operational proceduresRequired QualificationsMust have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope PolygraphBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (including Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering) and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or systems administration; ORMaster's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience; ORA minimum of seven (7) years of directly related experience in lieu of a degreeQualifying experience must include one or more of the following:Requirements analysisSoftware development or engineeringSoftware installation and integrationSystem evaluation and enhancementSystem maintenanceTroubleshooting and problem diagnosis/resolutionDoD 8570 IAT Level I certification or higher (Security+ preferred) is requiredExperience administering Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or similar distributionsExperience supporting large-scale distributed computing environments, including Hadoop, Accumulo, or comparable big data platformsProficiency developing automation scripts using Bash and/or PythonExperience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or similar enterprise automation frameworksExperience monitoring system health, troubleshooting operational alerts, and resolving system outagesKnowledge of storage systems, data integrity, backup, and recovery processesExperience supporting secure enterprise environments and implementing access control and account managementStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary technical teamsAbility to thrive in a dynamic, mission-focused operational environmentDesired QualificationsCandidates possessing one or more of the following cloud certifications are highly desired:AWS Certified Developer – AssociateAWS DevOps Engineer – ProfessionalCertified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)Experience supporting cloud-native or hybrid cloud environmentsFamiliarity with container technologies and KubernetesExperience supporting enterprise monitoring, automation, and operational sustainmentKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, and secure systems administrationExperience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments supporting mission-critical systemsFamiliarity with enterprise logging, monitoring, and performance management toolsExempt hourly position.
