Job Description:
InGenesis is currently seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to work with our client. In this role, you will provide skilled technical performance and oversight of Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) procedures. This role supports clinical and research imaging services and contributes to patient, staff, and public education while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe, high-quality Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging services for clinical and research patients.
• Perform patient care duties within scope, including assessment, IV insertion, preparation, education, administration of radiopharmaceuticals, and post-procedure care.
• Ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety by following radiation safety (ALARA), infection control, and emergency response protocols.
• Safely screen patients for implanted devices and imaging clearance; recognize and escalate critical findings or patient distress.
• Operate nuclear medicine, PET, CT (as assigned), and hot lab equipment independently, including quality assurance activities.
• Maintain clean, organized imaging and work areas; manage supplies and properly handle and dispose of radioactive materials.
• Accurately document patient care, imaging data, and billing information in required systems and ensure timely image transfer to PACS.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow, on-time starts, and room turnover.
• Communicate effectively using approved tools and provide clear hand-offs and shift reporting.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, compliance activities, and continuing education.
• Support education and training of patients, students, technologists, and staff.
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, call coverage, emergency response participation, and travel to off-site imaging locations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
• Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT or NMTCB)
• Texas Medical Board licensure as a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT)
• CPR certification
• Minimum of one year experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist/PET
Preferred
• Bachelor's degree
• Additional certifications (ARRT, NMTCB, PET, ACLS, PALS/PEARS)
• Experience in an academic medical center or related imaging discipline
• Graduation from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with one year of clinical experience
