Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician

Overview

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 500+ provider multi-specialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for a Fellowship trained, Board Certified or Board Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join a well-established practice located in Boise, Idaho.

The selected candidate will join two MFM physicians, one genetic counselor and five Sonographers at the practice in Boise and will also cover Nampa. Labor and Delivery (L&D) rounds are multidisciplinary in nature and attended by MFM, OB Hospitalists, L&D Unit Coordinator, L&D Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Nurses, Pharmacists, Social Worker, Case Manager and often both Nursing and Pharmacy students.

The schedule is a typical workweek, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with 32 patient facing hours per week. The call schedule is consultative call including weekends, 1:2 or 1:3, or equally shared among the provider group. There are no in-house calls or deliveries.

Support includes a Level III+ NICU that provides 24-hour comprehensive specialty care for premature and high-risk infants delivered at SARMC or transported to SARMC NICU, as well as the sickest of full-term infants. On-site Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Gastroenterology, 24-hour Anesthesia, Radiology and Emergency Medicine coverage. On-campus OB/GYN clinic with 20 providers and a community network of employed and allied primary & specialty care clinics. We use View Point Perinatal Ultrasound Reporting System and EPIC EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide Maternal Fetal Medicine care as part of a team that includes two MFM physicians, a genetic counselor and five Sonographers in Boise and coverage for Nampa.
• Participate in multidisciplinary Labor and Delivery rounds with MFM, OB Hospitalists, L&D Coordinator, CRNA, nurses, pharmacists, social worker, case manager and students as applicable.
• Maintain a schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm with 32 patient-facing hours per week and a consultative call schedule on weekends (1:2 or 1:3) or shared among the provider group; note there are no in-house calls or deliveries.
• Utilize a Level III+ NICU with 24-hour specialty coverage for premature and high-risk infants, including access to on-site Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Gastroenterology, 24-hour Anesthesia, Radiology and Emergency Medicine.
• Collaborate within the on-campus OB/GYN clinic and the broader network of primary and specialty care clinics; operate with the View Point Perinatal Ultrasound Reporting System and EPIC EMR.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
• Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA OBGYN Residency and Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship
• Board Certification, or obtain certification within 3 years of employment
• Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC-Boise and SAMC-Nampa
• Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA
