About our team

As a Physician in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and an excellent patient experience. In this role, you will join our nationally renowned MFM Division, which includes 27 MFMs serving six states.

Our Maternal-Fetal Diagnostic Centers are located within five tertiary care hospitals, with satellite clinics across Utah, Colorado, and Montana. The Division collaborates with leading academic centers and pediatric hospitals.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative care for high‑risk pregnancies and manage complex maternal conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders.
  • Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics, including detailed fetal ultrasounds, fetal echocardiograms, and Doppler studies.
  • Conduct invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and fetal blood sampling.
  • Coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team comprising general obstetricians, neonatologists, genetic counselors, registered dietitians, and nurses to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Support labor and delivery teams with high‑risk assessments and, when needed, manage delivery of the baby requiring specialized care.
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and contribute to clinical research and quality‑improvement initiatives.
  • Optional inpatient care and collaborations with university faculty and residents.

Practice Settings

  • Primarily based at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana, supported by six traveling partners from Salt Lake City.
  • Provide outpatient care in satellite clinics (average travel: two days per month).
  • Participate in telehealth virtual consults.
  • Unrestricted call of 1:4‑1:5, shared with the larger MFM team.
  • Optional travel to Utah every 2‑3 months for collaboration and education.

Compensation and Support

  • Starting bonus: $30,000.
  • Relocation assistance: up to $20,000.
  • Guaranteed salary with additional productivity and quality incentives.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine.
  • U.S. ACGME OB/GYN Residency and MFM Fellowship.
  • Active, unobstructed Montana medical license, or ability to obtain one.
  • Full prescriptive authority and an active DEA, or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process.
