This position typically works 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Weekend availability is required. The Materials Specialist is responsible for sustaining and overseeing medical and/or surgical supplies, and providing service and support to clinicians, physicians, and City of Hope departments to care for the patients we serve. As a successful candidate, you will:Have strong communication skills in-person, over the phone, and via email.Analyze item usage and cost to determine and adjust stock levels, reduce inventory cost, execute action on material phase-in and phase-outWork with Purchasing to obtain technical information, specifications, recommended vendors, understand backorder risks, determine substitute material availability, communicate risks or concerns to supply, manage open orders and RTV requestsReview transactions daily to ensure supply issuances, receiving, inventory adjustments, and any other transactions are performed accuratelyComplete requisitions for supplies that are needed, and submit to Purchasing prior to cut-off timeExecute daily inventory transactions (e.g. Receipts, transfers, fulfillments, adjustments, express issues, etc.) accurately and same-dayCoordinate with purchasing, supply chain, receiving personnel, vendors and accounts payable personnel to resolve problems encountered with purchase ordersExecute cycle counts daily, expiration date management, cleaning and maintenance of inventory and bins, correct labeling and barcoding of inventory and inventory storage locations, and other actions maintenance on a regular cadence to ensure inventory accuracy and quality.Your qualifications should include: High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years of experience in Supply Chain/Materials department.
