Material PlannerEast Side of Indianapolis, IN | Fully Onsite$60,000 - $65,000 Base SalaryAre you a supply chain professional who thrives on balancing inventory, forecasting demand, and ensuring materials arrive when they are needed? LHH is seeking a highly analytical Material Planner to support purchasing, inventory planning, and supplier management activities within a dynamic distribution environment.This is a fully onsite contract to hire position.What You'll DoCreate and manage purchase orders within the ERP systemDevelop demand forecasts and inventory plans based on customer requirementsMonitor and track inbound purchase orders and supplier commitmentsMaintain accurate inventory levels across multiple warehouse locationsManage customer min/max inventory programsCoordinate supplier returns and corrective actionsEscalate recurring supplier performance issues and drive resolutionEnsure supplier compliance with delivery schedules, shipping documentation, and receiving requirementsWork cross-functionally to resolve material shortages, backorders, damaged goods, and delivery delaysInvestigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and material issuesMaintain accurate planning data within ERP and MRP systemsAdditional ResponsibilitiesAnalyze inventory and purchasing data to identify trends and opportunitiesManage slow-moving and obsolete inventoryDevelop strong supplier relationships and support ongoing performance improvement initiativesMonitor supplier scorecards including on-time delivery, quality, capacity, and responsivenessAssist with sourcing and procurement projects as neededRecommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and inventory performanceQualificationsRequired2+ years of experience in material planning, purchasing, procurement, inventory management, demand planning, or supply chainExperience working with ERP systemsStrong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsPreferredBachelor's degree; Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferredExperience planning raw materials, components, or inventory with extended lead timesExperience within distribution, wholesale, logistics, industrial products, or supply chain organizationsUnderstanding of MRP concepts and inventory planning methodologiesExperience working with domestic and/or international suppliersWhat Makes You SuccessfulYou think critically and proactively solve problems before they affect customersYou understand the balance between maintaining service levels and avoiding excess inventoryYou are comfortable working with large data sets and translating data into actionable decisionsYou enjoy building relationships with suppliers and internal business partnersYou are adaptable, resourceful, and eager to learn new systems and processes
