This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.What You'll DoThe Materials Manager for Switchboards owns the flow of materials behind our switchboard production — sheet metal and enclosures, busbars, electrical components, and assembly hardware — from BOM accuracy and demand planning through to materials staged and ready to build. You will manage materials planning and scheduling across our switchboard contract manufacturers, keep production supplied against manufacturing capacity, and manage the risk, lead time, and tariff exposure of a global switchboard supply base. This role is the connective tissue between Procurement, Production, Engineering, and our contract manufacturers.Where You'll WorkThis role is based out of our Long Beach facility at 6015 Obispo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90805. You must be willing to work in the office and on the production floor full-time, outside of our bi-weekly WFH Fridays.ResponsibilitiesOwn BOM accuracy and structure for switchboard products — enclosures, busbars, electrical components, and assembly hardware — in the ERP/MRP systemTranslate the production schedule into materials requirements (MRP); convert demand into supplier releases and purchase requisitionsManage engineering change (ECO) impact on existing switchboard inventory and open ordersSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) — ensure long-lead components (sheet metal enclosures, custom busbars, specialty electrical components) are ordered early enough to hit pilot build and factory acceptance test (FAT) datesBuild and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) for the switchboard line, reconciled against real contract manufacturer capacityCoordinate build schedules with sheet metal fabricators, busbar manufacturers, electrical component suppliers, and final assembly contract manufacturersParticipate in S&OP/demand planning to align switchboard production plans with sales forecastsOwn inventory strategy — safety stock levels, buffer stock, and build-to-order vs. build-to-stock decisions for enclosures, busbars, electrical components, and assembly hardwareManage kitting and staging so the right components are ready at switchboard build and final assembly stationsTrack inventory health: turns, excess & obsolete (E&O) inventory, and cycle count accuracyManage lead times and allocation for long-lead switchboard items — custom sheet metal enclosures, specialty busbars, circuit breakers, and power distribution componentsMake allocation calls during component shortages, balancing customer commitments and production prioritiesIdentify and mitigate single-source, capacity, and geopolitical risk across the switchboard supply baseCoordinate materials flow and inventory visibility across switchboard contract manufacturers and Giga facilitiesOwn tariff and trade compliance planning for switchboard components — HTS classification, Section 301/232 exposure, USMCA qualification, and country-of-origin trackingEvaluate sourcing and inventory strategies (e.g., bonded warehousing, duty drawback) to manage tariff cost impactManage logistics and expediting decisions — air vs. ocean freight — when schedules are at riskRequirements7+ years in materials management, production planning, or supply chain, ideally in switchboard, switchgear, electrical equipment, or related industrial manufacturingHands-on experience with BOM management, MRP/ERP systems, and master schedulingExperience managing long lead-time materials — sheet metal enclosures, custom busbars, specialty electrical components, circuit breakers — in a switchboard or similar electrical equipment environmentWorking knowledge of tariff classification and trade compliance (Section 301/232, USMCA, HTS)Experience coordinating materials across multiple sites, including offshore contract manufacturersStrong analytical skills — comfortable building inventory, capacity, and risk modelsAbility to read BOMs, drawings, and specifications to support planning decisionsStrong communication skills; able to work cross-functionally with Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and OperationsBenefitsSubsidized health, dental, and vision insuranceEquity (options) in a rapidly growing startup401(k) with 4% employer matchUnlimited PTOParental leaveHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)Commuter benefitsMonthly team onsites where all offices come in–person to collaboratePay Transparency The range provided below is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning it includes both the commission / bonus target and annual base salary for the role (if applicable).

This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Giga and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience and qualifications.
