Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is currently looking to hire a Materials Manager in our Gadsden, AL plant. Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications.What You'll Do:Planning/Scheduling: Effectively plan and schedule to meet production/customer demandFulfill, monitor and set safety stock levels to meet delivery targets and inventory reduction goals Oversee fulfillment/expediting of inter-company requirementsOversee creation/distribution and maintenance of adequate work ordersEnsure all materials are available for successful execution on shop floorPurchasing: Oversee all daily procurement activities needed to fulfill production demandMaintain sufficient raw material stocking levels to protect production and customer schedulesEstablish and enforce procedures to ensure proper recording, storage and tracking Oversee MRO/expense procurementWork with suppliers concerning forecasted needs/supply pipeline integrityInventory: Responsible for cycle count program fulfillmentEffective material disposition of obsolete and slow-moving materialResponsible for control of all appropriate transactional integrity, procedures and policiesPlan and lead the execution of semi-annual physical inventory Logistics: Oversee ordering and receipt of shipments in compliance with all regulationsCoordinate deliveries and cost saving effortsEffective communication/scheduling of inbound with logistics providersReceiving:Responsible for directing receiving personnel and functionEnsure all delivery receipts and put away processes are being executed accurately and timelyEnsure that all picking is competed and accurately enteredSupervisory and Managerial Responsibilities: Directly supervise raw materials planning, scheduling of, purchasing, and receiving functionsCollaborate with Customer Service and Planning/Scheduling to improve manufacturing flowCollaborate and ensure alignment with the Director of Supply Chain for TRMS corporateWhat You'll Need:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline7+ years of successful supervisory experienceExcellent leadership skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook Ability to read/interpret blueprints, drawings, or other technical materialAbility to communicate effectively and work well in a team-based environmentExcellent attention to detailHighly organized and process drivenDedicated to the pursuit of continuous improvementAPICS certification is a plusJob SummaryRequisition Number: MATER Job Category: Logistics Supply ChainSchedule: Full-Time
