Materials Engineering TechnicianBuild your career with University of Dayton Research Institute supporting cutting-edge Air Force sustainment technologies in a metallography lab environment, offering health and retirement benefits! This position will support day-to-day metallography laboratory (met lab) operations for United States Air Force (USAF) sustainment activities including additive manufacturing (AM), cold spray (CS), additive friction stir deposition (AFSD) and applied corrosion technologies. Primary job duties will include specimen preparation and characterization, operation of test equipment, incoming quality control inspection, assisting with metal powder inventory management, coordinating purchase orders and sample shipments, and supporting materials engineers with other project activities as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent3 or more years of directly related technical experienceExperience following instructions, exercising sound judgement, and exhibiting good work habits in the performance of assigned dutiesOrganizational skillsAttention to detailProficient with MS OfficeDue to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S.
