Material CoordinatorThe Material Coordinator typically works in a warehouse environment and is responsible for tracking inventory levels, handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, and keeping accurate records. On the shipping side, they package items, print labels, weigh packages, and determine appropriate postage. As receiving clerks, they are responsible for comparing bills of lading against actual merchandise received, inspecting for damaged goods, and, once approved, distributing merchandise to the correct locations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDetermines the method of shipment and prepares bills, invoices, and other shipping documentsReceives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips, and assists with unloading as necessaryInspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages, and rejects damaged goods or hazardous goodsAccepts or returns merchandise according to established company proceduresCalculates prices according to guidelines and affixes bar codes, prices, and security tags as necessaryOrganizes distribution and shipping of goods or hazardous goodsMakes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks and routes goods or chemicals to appropriate storage areasHandles customer pick-up and delivers goods and hazardous goodsMay operate a forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods and hazardous goodsMaintains internal record-keeping systemsContacts resource people for various informationContacts transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase ordersAssembles containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped, and prepares to identify information and shipping instructionsTakes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes, and places stock on shelvesExam all storage and warehouse facilities for deterioration, damage, or conditions that put goods and hazardous goods in riskEnsures area is secure at all timesPick up supplies as requiredKnowledge, Experience and Skill RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentAt least two years of related experience requiredKnows safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materialsKnows proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goodsForklift operations preferredProficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirementsPossess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documentsAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumeProficient Microsoft Office productivity suite preferredMust be able to successfully pass as required a federal, state, or local government's background investigationValid motor vehicle operators licenseForklift certification preferred40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) preferredWork EnvironmentProlonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with handsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerOccasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noisesAbility to lift up to 50 pounds at timesAbility to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessaryAbility to hear and see to position and safety requirement levelsOccasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicalsDisclaimerCBRE Government and Defense is thrilled at the opportunity for you to apply to one of our roles.
The rate for this position is $29.06.
