Materials ClerkCates Control Systems is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Materials Clerk to join our growing team in Wylie, TX. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment, enjoys staying organized, and takes pride in supporting production operations with accuracy and efficiency.This position plays a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly by managing inventory, supporting production teams, and transporting materials between our Wylie and Plano facilities. This position will also operate a company vehicle periodically to transport materials between our Wylie and Plano, TX offices.Candidates with prior warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience are encouraged to apply. Forklift experience is required, and CDL experience is a strong plus.Responsibilities include:Maintain clean, organized, and accurate inventory, receiving, and WIP (Work in Progress) areasPull, issue, and stage parts and materials for production jobsSupport production technicians with material requests and inventory needsReceive, inspect, verify, and accurately process incoming shipmentsEnsure all inventory transactions are completed correctly within the ERP systemStore incoming materials in correct inventory locations and job binsTag and organize project materials by job numberPrepare outgoing sales orders, pull line items, and print packing slipsResearch and resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortagesProcess returned materials back into stock or coordinate supplier returnsConduct weekly cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracySafely operate a forklift to move materials throughout the warehouseDrive a company truck periodically between the Wylie and Plano offices to transport parts, materials, and equipmentAssist with general warehouse upkeep, including trash and recycling removalFollow company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environmentMeasurements include:Accurate inventory levels and counts maintainedAccurate Put-Away of materialsProduction tasks acknowledged and completedSafe and reliable transportation of materials between facilitiesEducation and experience include:High school diploma or GED equivalent1+ year of warehouse, inventory, materials, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing support experience preferredValid driver's license with clean driving recordForklift operating experience requiredAbility to safely drive a company truck between office locationsAbility to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularlyComfortable standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and handling materials throughout the workdaySoft skills include:Strong organizational skills and attention to detailTime management and ability to prioritize tasksDependability and accountabilityEffective written and verbal communicationTeam-oriented mindsetProblem-solving and troubleshooting abilitiesAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentHard skills include:Forklift operation and warehouse material handlingInventory control and cycle countingERP system usage and inventory transactionsShipping and receiving processesMaterial staging and job trackingSafe operation of company vehicles/trucksBasic computer and data entry skillsPacking slip and sales order processingInventory discrepancy resolutionMore About UsCates Control Systems was founded over 40 years ago and is a systems integration company that partners with manufacturing firms to develop and implement automation solutions to increase production, improve quality and reduce costs.
