Materials Associate Job Description
The Materials Associate assists with the daily ordering, pulling, receiving, delivering, and replenishment of supplies to meet department and patient needs. This role also involves counting inventory, entering inventory data accurately, and checking expiration dates to ensure inventory remains up-to-date and usable. This position is a PRN role.
- Supports receipt verification, shipment acceptance, and data entry. Assists with package counts, following refusal protocols if shipments are unacceptable. Manages inventory, reorders supplies, and ensures proper rotation and expiration checks.
- Ensures timely verification of inbound supplies, outbound shipment processing, and restocking to meet departmental and patient needs.
- Expedites product delivery to appropriate areas or storerooms. Maintains par levels, updating and adjusting forms and labels as required.
- Obtains signatures for deliveries, documents non-delivery reasons, and maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counts and electronic replenishment.
- Maintains a safe work environment, secures equipment, and keeps the area free of clutter.
- Supports linen management by collecting, transporting, and distributing linens per infection control guidelines, replenishing par levels as needed.
- Adheres to PPE protocols and infection control standards set by OSHA, JCAHO, and other agencies.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Service-related or prior job experience
