Material HandlerThe Material Handler works as a member of a team to move finished product from production to various on-site locations.Responsibilities:Prepare product, trailer, and ground to safely unload productEffectively communicate with truck drivers, overhead crane and travel crane operationsLoading of trailersUnloading trailersProper dunnage placementLoad levelingProperly sequence loads onto trailerIdentify and report damaged or defective productOff load list, locate pieces of concrete product identified as being shipped that dayWork with mi-jack crane operator in safely proceeding to product's locationRig product to be lifted as neededSet timbers on trailer in preparation for product loadingUnhook rigging on product once laid on trailer correctlyWork as a part of a team assisting others as neededMust adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety regulations and policiesAbility to operate tablet to identify items to be loaded or offloadedHousekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly mannerScope of Authority:Highly supervised. Tasks are typically assigned. 1-2 years of previous general construction or material handling experience preferred.Work Environment / Schedule:Monday-Friday. Outdoor environment. Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions.
